G'Day Chris, I rotate and edit the photos either or on the phone or computer before adding them to my posts but always double check before posting. Cheers Peter

Is this about uploading from your phone ?

With my iPhone I find pictures I want to upload and no matter how they look there I tilt phone to left and take a screen shot. Then tap taken shot and edit and save / Done. New pictures are now at bottom of pictures list and easier to find when uploading to forum.
    And they upload correctly.

Ive had pictures with wrong orientation taken on phone that Ive uploaded to my computer and I can view them by rotating and saving on computer OK but when they are loaded to forum load sideways. To solve that I had to take a screen shot of picture on my computer edit and and use that.

Its a pain in the A because the only way Ive discovered the problem usually is by first writing a post loading pictures and posting it .

It’s caused by the phone’s Exif data, easiest way is to only take pics in the orientation the way the phone saves it.

Other option is to slightly crop the pic and save it and the Exif data will save it in the orientation that you saved it.

Just took these 2 pics with my iPhone and uploaded them as is. One taken horizontal (landscape) and one vertically (portrait)

Even vertical shots taken with my Canon DSLR rotate if uploaded without some cropping.

There's a portrait/landscape orientation tag in EXIF. There's a heap of other data in EXIF that like this tag, editing programs drop.
