This seems to be a recent upgrade to VBulletin itself. The "New Tab" should open with an auxiliary bar below the address line, and can be deep-sixed from there to restore the thread view.

I'd become accustomed to Right click, and Open in a New Window, to reduce regen time for the Back function, and that still works too.

I'm using Firefox, and haven't used IE in ages, so YMMV.

    Cheers,

Don't think so. I've hated it since it first came into existence, mainly because for me it was as slow as a wet weekend and I'm not the only one. Now it loads pics almost instantly. Sorry about the loss of next and previous buttons but for me (and I'm sure many others) I can now load 4 or 5 pics in less time than it took to load the first pic in the light box.

If it faster and better in the next upgrade, it may come back again. Next upgrade is supposedly going to handle graphics better than this one, but who knows.

Next upgrade is due out shortly so we'll see what comes. Waiting with baited breath.

Yeah it's a bit of a dog having all the user information way over on the right hand side. The eyes naturally flow down the page, now they have to flow down the page and way across to the right. Especially bad if you have a wide screen monitor.

As Skew said, is there anywhere in the user preferences to change it back?

    Cheers,

    Will

Phil, I'm not quite sure on what your problem is, really need more info from you.

Is it because the user info on each post in now on top and not on the left as it use to be?

What size screen do you have and at what resolution are you running it at?

Have you got the browser screen maximised or have you sized it down?

Can you do a screenshot to show what you mean?
    Cheers

For me, these two annoyances alone more than outweigh any supposed benefits from longer lines.

I don't s'pose there's any way to make this formatting user selectable in their Profile?
    Hi,

    I agree with Skew.

Having said that, I see no point in arguing with the people in charge. At the end of the day it does not matter what I/we users think. I post less and less frequently. If these changes remain I will read less and less too. Breaking the flow of responses is really annoying as far as I am concerned. However, I appreciate that I am in the minority here.

    Regards
    Andy

DJ I've just opened Internet Explorer and it works great, full screen same as your screen shot, so it's a Firefox thing I'll have to fiddle with. Thanks for your help. P.

    Hi

You can use the style selector located at the bottom left of your screen to select a style called Legacy Layout and the site will use the layout prior to the latest change.

    Good one Steven.

I guess this will disappear though with the upcoming further update to happen soon.

Nope, it should stay here in one form or another.

    G'Day Steven

Thanks for the option, missed the isolation of the individual posts.

This is one old dog who is happy to learn new tricks, I'll be keeping the updated version. I'm sure it won't take long for it to become second nature.

I thought it was just me when the pics would take so long to load, which was always.

Seems to happen on some posts. I thought it had something to do with the way the pics are attached. If they are in the body of writing instead of thumbnails and are big they can make the screen bigger than the moniter. .
