Thread: Posting on Marketplace

Hi Paul .
I'm not the expert but this may help. A lot of new members get stuck with similar problems on first joining it seems.

When your new it takes a certain number a number of posts before you get the all clear to post direct to forum without your post being checked first. So if you post then go and look for it it wont be seen. Unless you look here.

I don't know about " Contact Us" That's probably a direct line to a mod or the owner Neil and you would have to wait for a reply.

It may be the same number before you can post to Market place? I'm not sure of the number of posts . Its not a lot . I tried looking for where this is stated but didn't find it. Maybe its only visible before you sign up.

One thing you could do is scoot around and post anything in a number of threads . Like "Nice piece " or what ever. To get your numbers up .

I can see now there was an extra step - I wasn't clicking the 'WOODWORK - Tools & Machinery' at the top of the Sub Forums category.
(it also took me a while to figure out how to reply to this thread. Luckily I've I got a better affinity for woodworking than for navigating computer programmes)

Hi guys, I'm slowly getting there. Now I'm having trouble uploading images. When I go top the Rules page and the section on how to add images I get this explanation: The following is a rough guide to inserting pictures into threads/posts so they can be seen on phones, tablets, android products and iProducts, etc using the Default Mobile skin.

More and more people are accessing the forums via android devices, iPhones, etc, so this info is particularly important if you what people to see your photo's even more important if you want people to actually see what you are selling if you are using the Market Place/Auctions forum.







That's the basics in a nutshell....

So the section explaining how seems to be missing. Or maybe I'm missing something up top?

When you click on Post new thread, enter the relevant info, then scroll down and you should see a link saying “Manage Attachments”

You’ll then need to navigate to your album and select images and then click on upload

I did try that step, and the file sizes of the photos must have been way too big, because it kept telling me I had about 27000 too many characters. That's why I went to the 'how to ad images' page. I'm assuming I need to alter the format or change the size of the images I'm trying to upload, but have no idea how, to what, or if that's even the problem. Thanks for your patience.
