I don't have anything i so I can't help with an i product problem. However, I do have Safari and this message was done using Safari 5.1.7 on a windows tablet with no problem.

I hardly ever use Safari other than to test out upgrades and other web stuff from time to time for computability.
Looks to me like the problem is somewhere at your end possibly with the Macbook Air (which I had to do a search to find out what on earth it was) and not Safari or the forums. Safari obviously works with regular Mac's and your iPad as per your post in "New box rocks on base - why?"

Are you typing your posts directly into the forum or typing them in another program and then doing a cut 'n' paste? We have had problems in the past with cut 'n' pastes from Word into a thread.

    Something else to try:
Go to the bottom of any screen and if the little drop down box (left side) says --Main Theme, try clicking on --Default Style or ----Single Column Style and see if this makes things work better for you.

I hope this may be of some little help.

    Cheers - Neil

PS Trying another forum may not give a true indication unless it is running (vBulletin 4.2.0 Patch Level 3) which is what these forums run. This info should be available at the bottom of all pages on most vBulletin Forums, unless like these forums they have paid to have an unbranded forum. Most are too tight for that, so you should be able to find it pretty easily.

The symptoms *look* very much like an errant mouse-keyboard macro to me. Or an inadvertantly configured one.

Safari users - Does a Safari Reset affect scripting macros ?

No, the reset gets rid of Cookies and other erroneous data.

This is what the 'reset' does DJ.

Dengue, this is a longshot, however have you re-booted your Macbook since you've had this problem?

I think I've found the solution but I'm at work at the moment. It'll mean you'll have to delete a few 'plist' files in the Safari application. If you haven't fixed it already, I'll post the fix tomorrow.

For what it is worth, I stopped using Safari on both my MacBook Pro, iPad3 and even the iPhone 4S. I instead use Chrome. It is quicker and easier to use and to navigate - better bookmarking and integration of Google into the address area.

Thanks for your help, suggestions and general support. I still haven't found a solution, but I am strongly swayed by Derek's comments.

Be interesting to see what Scott comes up with.

    Hi Dengy

For the iPad, just download the free app. Ditto for the others.

Okay, try this (I wont take any responsibility if something goes wrong!).

    Quit Safari

    Go to ~/Library/Preferences

Move the com.apple.Safari.plist file from the Preferences folder to the desktop.

Relaunch Safari. If that help, move the plist file to the Trash. If not, move it back to the Preferences folder.

If this doesn't work, I'm out of suggestions. Hope it helps.
