    Hey jenno,

When you click a link from your email, is part of the URL on the next line and not linked?

Can you visit the homepage Woodwork Forums - Powered by vBulletin from home?

    Can you ping the domain?

Just had the weirdest thing happen when I tried to type a reply in to the forum in two threads this being one. My keys no matter where I typed were incorrect. Yes I was hitting the right keys. Yes I checked another program or two they were fine. I had to close down Firefox and restart clearing the cache was not enough as was signing out.

    Working fine now.

Fumes are bad I'll admit Cliff but no glue in here.

I even had Sue come watch just in case something was seriously wrong Cliff She admitted for a change it wasn't me. Even the fumes.

Sounds like they are trying to pick up the old server so maybe there's a DNS cache problem. These should have cleared world wide a few days at most after the server change over but who knows.

Try flushing the DNS in the computer and if this works have a go at the iPhone.

How to Flush DNS in Microsoft Windows

In Microsoft Windows, you can use the command ipconfig /flushdns to flush the DNS resolver cache. Open the command prompt and type the following:
    C:>ipconfig /flushdns
    Windows IP Configuration
Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache.
The above command will completely flush the DNS, deleting any incorrect entries too. You can also use the command ipconfig /displaydns to view the DNS resolver cache.

    Flush DNS in Mac OSX

In Mac OSX Leopard, you can use the command dscacheutil -flushcache to flush the DNS resolver cache:
    bash-2.05a$ dscacheutil -flushcache
In Mac OSX versions 10.5.1 and before, the command lookupd -flushcache performed the same task:
    bash-2.05a$ lookupd -flushcache

iPhone - How to Flush DNS

Step 1 - Turn iPhone off and turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPhone for a few seconds until a red slider appears, and then slide the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

Step 2 - Reload your iPhone Safari page.

If this doesn't work please post back in here and we'll see what else can be done.

    Gheers - Neil
Hi Neil. My PC and iPhone are on different accounts. On the iPhone I am using the Tapatalk program which says forums are "native" to it. When it works it's great. check up on things at work and all. Here is the most common message I get, even after clearing both dns's.

    "This webpage is not available
The webpage at https://www.woodworkforums.com/newrep...eply&p=1284284 might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
    Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): Unknown error"

It happens quite regularly on the PC and the iPhone says "permission Error, Security error, you may not have permission to access". that's most of the time, I reload about 3 times b4 it gets anywhere.

    Cheers Darren

Thanks, in the end it was down for 2 hours 3 minutes 39 seconds!

We had some problems getting it rebooted, so it took 2 hrs to fix instead of 5 minutes.

Today i'll see if I can workout what caused the server to stop responding.

    cheers
