Not a major issue but on the previous bulletin board, I had it set so that attachments opened in a new tab but now they open in the current window.

Had a look through Settings/User CP but couldn't see anywhere to change this, pretty sure you could set this on the old bulletin board.

Is there a setting on the new website which allows me to darken or bold the postings as I'm finding it very difficult to read them [even with good lighting & specs on].
Appeciate the assistance, thank you. Cheers, crowie
I don't think so. Colours have already been identified as an issue.

Not sure if this has been covered, and it may just be a problem with the search engine, but i have just noticed when i click on new posts i am getting all new posts, including in subforums that i have opted not to get new posts listed from.

Just looked into this a bit more, on my iPad, attachments previously opened in new tabs but now open in the same tab/window, and I've just tried it on my laptop and attachments open in new tabs as they did prior to the upgrade. Hmm I think I'll see if the settings on my iPad have changed or need to be reset.

Also tried doing this post via my laptop (Vista 32 bits/IE 9) and the browser just freezes when I hit reply but works ok when I use iPad has happened a few times today.
    Cheers

    Hi,
I'm finding some do and some don't and I can't see why.

Issue has been logged. It may be the filter only works with iSpy, we'll have to wait for admin to clarify when they can.

Just checked that Hugh and you're right, might have something to do with the indexing, think I'll wait till that has been completed and see if it clears up.

A feature I used, to avoid being overwhelmed by all the forums, was the 'hide forum' feature.
    (as mentioned here: https://www.woodworkforums.com/f36/fo...tering-104530/)

This allowed me to have a main forum page that excluded sections I have no interest in.

Regarding colours.. maybe a good idea is to find a bunch of free vbulletin themes, and just let people pick their own?

As much as I love timber... the old woodgrain theme was very hard on the eyes!
I'm liking these current colours a lot more.. (although I understand people needing more contrast with read/unread colours!)

new editor is nice.. could do with a few more/newer smileys!

    Angry New Format

Must admit that I did like the old format but progress marches relentlessly onward.

Color of new posts / threads hard to read and differentiate read and unread posts. Suggest Bold black for unread and defaulting to blue after reading when returning back to list of new messages/posts

For those of us who are interested in various topics, as you read through the various posts, if there is to be no change in color then can we have the dotted outline of the last post read so we know where we are up to as in the previous format

Have lost my preferences for the topics I'm interested in, now getting all messages again

As mentioned by others, need the choice of color schemes ( not a priority until other issues addressed )

Like anything new, takes time to tweak it and get used to it
The person who never made a mistake never made anything

    Cheers
    Ray

Over the years that I've been a member I've lived through a number of forum upgrades and this one is no different. Whilst Neill, Steve and his team are working flat out getting it done lots of members whinge and whine about minor inconsequential things like layout, colour etc.

During the immediate days of changeover by all means report broken bits or problems but let them get on with their work for soon enough the cosmetic changes can be looked at.

For goodness give the guys a break for they are doing it for us.

I believe that was part of iSpy scripts which are no longer with us. It may take a while to find an alternative.

Colours are not as simple as they appear and the Admins will need to do it when they get some spare time.

Maybe later when things are under control. We have had some spammers slip in and a few other pressing issues so once things settle - maybe!
