Default How to upload a 1MB video from my computer?

Can it be done? I have added it to a thread as a downloadable file, but that's a hassle for the reader. Is there a way to upload a vid without it having to have a URL?

    Absolutely none. Its a PITA.

Just tried to embed an Instagram video and every bbCode available simply will not do it.

The forum can install a plugin to accommodate, but has not utilised it.

The only real choice is to put the video on a free hosting site (YT) and do it that way.

Bit of a PITA, but does save on storage for the site

    Default Excel...

    Hey F.F,
I have migrated away from excel, word and all the MS stuff to Google Docs, and Google Sheets etc. And there is Google Drive where you can store stuff you need to share/keep. Downside is you need to be online, but not such an issue these days.
All the same functionality and works the same way, with the added bonus of being able to access from anywhere and share the docs with others seamlessly, even just via a link. I have a shared Sheets document for our glass business, which the wife can edit from her PC and it's shared with our accountant.
Plus you can open Excel and Word and even save your docs as Excel or Word.

    And it's free!

Thanks David, but I'm not sure if Google docs can cope with Visual Basic macros in Excel (I'd be surprised if it could). I use them extensively (write my own).....even for my fortnightly menu, recipes for cooking, shed stuff, freezer inventory etc etc.

Nor am I a fan of Cloud storage. I do not trust Google/Microsoft/Apple/Facebook/Twitter and all the rest of them at all - not even a little bit. I would be concerned about their servers crashing or being hijacked, and them using or selling my data (REGARDLESS of whether it's a crime or not).

Furthermore we get a lot of electrical storms here and there are numerous blackouts per year, and that is why I have a laptop with an auxilliary screen rather than a desktop computer - built-in UPS. I have 14TB of storage spread over 4 drives, and only one of them is always plugged in (4TB MUSIC drive). The rest are backups which are done regularly, and then disconnected from the laptop.

It's surprising how much space hi-rez music takes up. Anything up to 10x the space of a normal CD (esp if it's 5.1 channels). Storage is pretty cheap though.
