Retro fitted toilet cistern. 50's with 6/3 flush
I bought a toilet suite and specifically got one which had the S trap exposed like the old style ones. The cistern was another matter.
I bought an old Brent brand brass cistern, and thought that will be just right to fit with the retro bathroom. Problems are the pan is 6/3 flush and the cistern is probably 15 litre flush. Apart from water wasting, it would not work well.
So I gutted both of the cisterns and put the internals of the new into the old. I repaired and painted the old one first. I painted it in two pack paint at work. I had to make a hole in the top cover for the new dual flush buttons.
It would be funny to watch people press the original button and nothing happens.

I actually have another cistern same vintage, a Delmatic brand and it could also be converted the same.
When the bathroom is totally finished I will post pics. Every spins out how 50's it is looking.
