I think I see what you are getting at (but I think you have a copy and paste error in one of your quotes). The word 'mastic' has thrown me. It's actually Davco Powder Mastic (not Power) and is mixed from powder, not premixed, although I'm not sure what the difference is.

Davco says "POWDER MASTIC Tile Adhesive is a white, premium grade cement-based adhesive" and "Davco POWDER MASTIC can be used to fix tiles onto ... suitable waterproofing membranes."

Aquathane says "Suitable water-based tile adhesives ... are to be used when tiling over membrane."

So I guess it looks OK.
"I don't practice what I preach because I'm not the kind of person I'm preaching to."

An interesting side note - a few months ago I went to a tiling demonstration sponsored by Ardex. The guys from Ardex went through the process of applying the Ardex Superflex waterproof membrane (which is a typical membrane the same as Davco K10). Then they laid tiles on `a wall they had prepared earlier' using the pre-mixed abamastic, which they specifically recommended for tiling over the Superflex.

They even wore shirts with the Ardex logo on the breast so they must have been right! (Now I'm just looking for a chance to be made fun of....)
