1st Grandchilds Cot
Gday
I have been lurking for a while and finally decided to make my first post. Last year my daughter decided that it would be a good idea for me to jion the local wood workers club (Singleton Woodworkers Association). These blokes have helped with all the newbie questions and offer advice on various project i have attempted. A couple of months ago my eldest daughter informed me i'm gunna be a Pop. Naturally i wanted to make something for her and the baby so i decided on a cot.I went and seen past pres Rob who had a look in his shed, and said here is some Silky Oak go make some saw dust. Here is the result.
Regards
Mark (gotahope im doing this right)

Congratulations on a job well done!
Your daughter will be very proud to have such a gift to to put her precious bundle in and rock to sleep.
How long did it take to build?
Did you turn the balusters?
Did you have a plan or is it your own design?
She is a very lucky girl to have such a handy dad!
regards, Ned

I have been doing most of it at the woodwork meetings ( 2nd and 4th tuesday of the month) for about 3 months. If the balusters are the long round things on the side of the cradle yeah i turned them up all 24 of them started out at about 25min each finnished 15min each. says something about repetition. Got the plans from Wooden Baby Cradle - Woodworking Plans from Lee's Wood Projects and finnished of with 4 coats of Dannish oil. It is my first piece of furniture.
regards
