    Default Arts & Crafts Inspiration-WIP

    Hi guys/gals,

    I was hanging out in the J-tools and Box makers bins, but thought I'd jump in here because what I'm making doesn't fit there so well.

    Anyway, my wife says to me (looking at our Dollar Store reject lighting style decor), "Why don't you make a lamp?" Ooookaaay (I can do that??)

    So after a bit of looking, I spot enough Arts and Crafts and Mission style lamps to give me some ideas (since I need to use wood). Still need to make a shade. Wood is walnut and curly maple.

    Pics aren't the greatest (dull day and the flash makes things look better than they really are - no, wait, I mean worse). Not enough shade

    Finished with a temporary shade - saw this one at Canadian Tire for $15. When time permits I'll make a proper shade in keeping with the style. As is, two coats of tung oil and I'll wax it in a few days when the oil's fully cured.
