    Default Bathroom towel rail

I made this out of recycled jarrah. The rails are doweled to the end brackets and through the the centre bracket to each other.
The back brace is bolted through to the wall using knock down bolts, to make this easier I drilled the centres out of the wall plugs once I had inserted them.

I have 3 daughters sharing the bathroom now there is 1-2 towels on the rack but still just as many on the floor.

    Poloris

That is a good looking towel rail.

What is it with girls. I have 2 daughters and a 15 year old grand daughter and they use about 3 towels a day each and they all end up on the floor soaking wet. They just can't hang them up to dry.

    Beautiful work Poloris!

I made my husband's two daughters their own free standing towel rack and yes, their towels are still on the floor too (((

Can you explain a little more about the rails, are they one piece angled to spread the towel or a corner piece of wood railing eg / or /\ ?
    Thanks

Nice job Poloris - I reckon having the angled pieces looks better than the usual round rods.

    Poloris,

Great towel rail, I just have one problem,
How am I suposed to plagerise if you dont include dimensions and finish details.

Oh BTW it's not just teenage girls that leave towels on the floor, boys do it too.

    Thank you for your encouragement.
The rails are 19x38mm battons rounded with a 1/4" round off router bit and set at 45 degrees.
The finish is Danish oil, because it was handy.

PoPnBuG- Jarrah takes a fair effort to work, however its usually straight grain and stiffness reward the work put into joinery. It is hard to machine and blunts hand tools.
More Jarrah is cut than any other Australian commercial timber.

Just had a look at the rail and have to say how excellent it is. Im impressed not only with the quality of the work but at the new look youve given to what is normally a pretty boring bathroom item.

    Real pretty!

Is Jarra easy to work with??

... I notice a very nice smooth finish there too, what did you use to finish?

    Nice work

Poloris, very nice towell rack. I like the angles you used for the rails themselves, it's a lot better than just a piece of aluminium or round wood. Is there a reason you did them that way or is it just because it looks better.

    Great job.

    Cheers

Now look here Lefty, the one you did was not only a few weeks ago but it's a bit much your trying to horn in on some other blokes kudos.
Yes you made one too; now go and do something else while we praise Poloris for what he has done.
