New House Design
SWMBO and I are designing a new house and I took some photos of this house for inspiration for the facade. What do you think of it. Of all of the houses I've seen in SE Queensland, this is my favourite.

Love it.
Compared to the tar and paper hothouse McMansions everyone else in SE Qld is building, it's a breath of fresh air.
Steep, high roof, wide verandah, shade. Can't go wrong.
The rooms inside the roof will be a challenge to keep cool in summer.

You guys up there have some of the nicest houses in Aus. the ole Queenslander.
Although its a couple of years off yet our new house straw bale will have a lot of those ideas. ie high ceilings, tongue groove walls etc etcI would love to grow my own food, but I can not find bacon seeds

To me it looks a million dollars. It's also cavity brick. The roof or attic windows, I don't know what you call them, are just skylights. But the lady who owns the house told me that there's plenty of room up there to build ...
Unfortunately the house is under threat by development.
