Benefits of a blowfly!
Got the idea for this one while I was trying to come up with a use for 2 polished cow-horns my late brother polished to make into powder-horns a-la Davy Crockett style. I bought a Blowfly sander over Easter and thought shaping the 'tusks' would be a good test for it. I cut the basic shape of the tusks on the bandsaw, then arissed them close to round on the belt sander. Getting them nicely rounded was a breeze for the blowfly mounted in the drill press. Get's the nod from me.
The pot is Dorrigo Rosewood and the 'tusks' are Norfolk Island Hibiscus which is the whitest timber I've ever seen and is very nice to work. 120 high x 140 wide.
Any (non-intrusive) suggestions for a project for the horns?????

TTIT,
very funky little "horned pot". Pardon my ignorance though, what's a blowfly? I've heard of a wasp sander, but not a blowfly, got any pics you can post or a link perhaps.

fantastic work, the choice of timber with regards to colour contrast is a great choice.

Once again, spectacular work, TTIT! I love the shape of that lid & also where it fits into the bowl, too - very top class work, all of it.
Cheers,
Jill
