    Default Blackwood chest of drawers

    Chest of drawers in blackwood: 1100w x 550d x 750h. Drawer carcasses & bottoms are in hoop pine. Drawers are on concealed Hettich soft close runners. Finish is Kunos oil over shellac.

    I like most of it, but the split drawer front, especially the middle drawer really annoys me. Sorry to say so.

    Yes, I would prefer either wider, single boards for the deep drawer fronts, or four or five unjointed drawer fronts. They could be veneered!

    Thanks gents. Re the drawer fronts, I was in two minds whether to use a veneer, or show the nice figure in the bare boards. In the end, I went for the bare boards, and the client likes them, but still not sure if I'd go that way again. Some really speccy veneer would have gone well.
