I don't think the photo resolution does the joints justice.

Nice grain and beautiful rich colour.

To be honest this needs to be a heavy unit so it doesn't tip over once the drawer is filled with magazines etc.

    Nice stuff Lignum.

Read about the wall unit again - can't find the finish? I'm interested as I am seeking a good table top finish.
    Cheers

Great looking table Lignum! You've given me an idea now how I can use a pair of heavy duty precision runners I've been holding onto for 'that special project'.

    Hey Lig

    Nice table

love the shape and looks like it will go well with the other "piece" BUT have to ask:

........any reason you skipped on a more traditional take on the draw n joinery??? a roll out draw that looks like its butted together just dosent seem like you:confused:

TJ New camera is two weeks away The wall unit and Low-line was given a thin coat of shellac then half doz coats of Livos "Ardvos" I ran out, so the coffee table got the wipe on poly tratment. Wipe on poly is quick and easy but isnt a good quality finish for depth and lusture. Blackwood loves oil so sealing it with a coat of shelac and sanded lightly then any good quality will do. I dont like laquer on BW as it make it look to plasticy. Livos "Kunos" is their oil for flooring and is great for table tops. Assuming your not making a contemporary or highly polished repro, nothing better than oiled table tops as they feel so nice when you are sitting there and are very durable and develop a beautifull patina over the years. Not to mention easy to repair

 Hmm got me worried Oh and the drawers are dove tailed. When the runners are used you need the seperate front to hide the 25mm gap

Perhaps you could have inked in the pins - just for effect then

That is a serious coffee table Lignum.

I like the verticle grain on the sides and agree with you on the use of oil on blackwood.
