Blackwood and Sassy coffee table
Hi everyone.
When my wife and I were in Tasmania late last yr, I had to find reasons to stock-up on timber!
Some friends of ours are getting married at the end of March. "I'll make them a coffee table," I said. My wife knows I have a bad rep for not finishing one woodworking project before moving onto another, but she said 'Yes' to the timber anyway. It was only $40 for the blackwood slab and two lengths of sassafras 4x2.
And now it's actually finished. Did the final burnishing this morning with a rag.
Top is Tas blackwood; aprons and legs are sassy. Joinery is mortise and tenon.
All finished with Minwax Wipe-On Poly (Satin) - Wongo's recommendation.
And yes - each leg is turned differently. That's the kind of friends they are!
Cheers,
GWWhere you see a tree, I see 3 cubic metres of timber, milled and dressed.
