    Default Blanket Box

This was a joint effort with another woodworker.
Rail and stile out of African Ash, ogee raised panels and legs out of Camphor.

    Thanks for looking.

    Looks good!

What sort of finish did you use?

    Colours work well.

Nice work! The African Ash softens up the more dramatic Camphor nicely...

You've gotta watch that handle on top though - people have a habbit of sitting on these boxes... ouch!

    cheers,

Great job, only thing if there are kids around I would fit soft closing closers on it,mayby not only kids because mine saved me a bruised finger.
    It is just my thoughts

What sort of finish did you use?
Luxor Satin Finish 2 coats on 2 coats of sanding sealer.

You've gotta watch that handle on top though
With this type of lid the handle has to go on the top. Cost and time restrictions precluded investigations into flush pull handles.

I would fit soft closing closers
I normally do fit soft closers, but client didn't want to pay for them, in fact this is the only blanket box I've ever made without them.

Looks great. Bet the head was clear when it was being built.

    Wow!!!
BTW, when did they stop being "Glory Boxes" and morph into "Blanket Boxes"?
Am I showing too much nostalgia??

Not showing your age.I first came across "blanket box"in American wood magazines. Just a bit of cross pollenisation.
