Blanket box/coffe table
I had this brief to make a coffee table/ blanket box from some timber that was reclaimed from an old family home. The family had already had two boxes made up for two of their three daughter and had just to make the last one. By the time I got the material the best had been taken and that left the dregs. I was able to come up with enough chamfer board and some 12mm tongue and groove that had the tongues and grooves all but destroyed. There wasn't really a plan, they just gave me a size and let me loose.
This is what I came up with..

I have no idea why the images are upside down.
The customer wanted rustic, this is about as rustic as I get. I had to recut the tongue and groove on the boards of the top and the rest is made up of southern silky oak that I have a supply of. They wanted to finish it, fill holes etc, which suited me just fine....
Thanks for looking
