Default Bonsai stand - broke it!

So much time to do this, so little time to break it.

First major attempt at carving - a 'learner piece', so breaking it is part of the learning curve, I guess.

"Powercarved" by drilling holes and using a "rod wrapped in sandpaper" in a drill, also chisels, knife and rasp. All very basic, ruff'n'ready.

Qld Walnut (very hard), waxed and buffed with a shoe brush.
    300mm x 90mm.

    Cheers,
    Clinton

Bugger.... looks good just the same.
Gives me an idea for what to do with a big ugly lump of Camphor Laurel.

    thanks fellas.

The design pretty much stopped at "two tiers and lots of holes", then I just let things come out as they happened.

Lesson learnt: next time use a softer timber and know when to stop!
    Cheers,
