A box to house a Watch Collection
So here is a box designed to hold a watch collection, including two Fob Watches. The carcass is figured Jarrah, with Birds eye Huon Pine compartment dividers. The top consists of a figured Jarrah panel surrounded by a Fiddle back Tasmanian Blackwood border. The hinges are square Quadrant hinges from Anton Gerner Furniture. The finish is friction sealed Wattyl Scandinavian oil coated with UBeaut Traditional Wax. The combination of high grit sanding (4000g) and wax gives brilliance to the timbers and clarity to the grain.
Regards,
Rob

Very nice, I presume it is a commission piece?

Hi Arry,
Yes it is a commission, but I make things with this level of finish for home as well.

Very nice Rob , where's the rest of the fiddleback b/wood you bought?
Didn't get lost in the moment did you and buy too much?

As always Rob, a stunning result. You have made the most of that beautiful grain.
And my head I'd be a scratchin'
While my thoughts were busy hatchin'
If I only had a brain.

Very nice box. Do have one question, is there going to be a dust cover between the box lid and the watch faces?

Hi Christos,
Not that I am aware of or was asked to include. I guess it's something he needs to think about.
