Purple heart is available from Yandles (in Somerset) so most probably other locations also.

Red Gum, Kwila
Thanks for that Wendy. I will have a look around. You don't have any pictures of Red gum or Kwila grain do you? Jarrah, I know , but am keen to broaden my knowledge of Aussie timber as I may be out that way next year.

Anjoda, it's not an Australian timber but I have been doing a bit of work with wenge, very dark, very prominent grain and contrasts very nicely with PLAIN lighter coloured timbers. It needs to be plain because the wenge's grain would fight with it otherwise!
