Sounds like a good idea to have them on display somewhere, assuming they would arrive there safely, especially with their security concerns these days

I can see your concern, and the stupidity of our gun laws does go to show you need to do something. A word of warning though, once these places (museums) get hold of any collection, they never give them back without a huge struggle. In most cases, they win the struggle. They do not necessarily put them on show either, and can keep them locked away.

Something extremely valuable needs to be valued by experts, and at least two independant experts at that. You will then need to insure for a lot more than the valuation, and then lock them away. Of course this will be the reason you need to make a decision. People without a lot of money for insurances suddenly finding themselves holding something of huge value, have to sell off the items for fear of losing them.

My suggestion is value them, and sell them in a reputable world wide auction (Sotherby's). Then make another lot.

What beautiful work. Unique and amazing art that should be displayed for future generations. I think if you can sell them to a museum that would be great. But if you get a rich private collector to buy them that would probably be almost as good - a lot of them loan their artworks to museums and galleries anyway. I would send feeler contacts to the big private collectors, like the Guggenheim family, the Getty family, and Charles Saatchi (I'm sure there are many other similar rich folks - but it isn't really my field). You only need to get a response from one of these to get a good result, and with the unique nature of these pieces I would think you've got a chance at least.
