Cats Perch Or observers Chair
I have recently got a telescope (Fulfilling a childhood dream). I have also found that not only are Woodworkers an inventive lot so are amatuer astronomers. Hence The chair I have just built. Its a problem solver as on a telescope the Eye Peice can end up at any level especially if you are tracking a planet or a star system. Made mostly from recycled gluts and an old draw. Cost $17 for handles and bolts and nuts.

Nice work on the chair, and if your cats are anything like our cats I can see them putting it to good use too
Is the image of the moon your pic? and if so, how does one obtain a pic through a telescope?Brett
Only Robinson Crusoe could get everything done by Friday!

Thanks, and yes the picture of the moon is mine. To do this I used a 3mp camera that had fixed zoom removed the lens (The telescope becomes the lens) attached an old film canister with the bottom cut off, to the front, then placed it into the focuser of the telescope. you dont need an eye peice to do this as the camera becomes the eye peiece. The camera chip In my case CMOS not CCD gathers all the light and hence the photo. Picture attached of the setup.

Made a couple of changes to make it more comfortable. Re-shaped the Back hinges and added a foot rest for when the seat is high.
