    Default Chairs WIP

Lignum has been hassling to post a WIP. So when the great man asks you to do something you do it.

I have been working on a set of 8 NSW Rosewood dining chairs. They are to compliment a Rosewood table I made early this year.

Here are some pictures. These are the result of 4 weeks of work. I've just finished cutting the seat-to-leg joints. My next task is to shape the legs, then glue them to the seats. After that I will shape and assemble the back slats.

It is going to be a long journey but that will do for today. Thanks for watching.

Pic 1 is the chair I am sitting on right now. It is what the let-to-seat joint looks like.

The back slats are laminated with 3 pieces of wood. I need to make 32 of them. I have 2 jigs and can make 2 per day.

Interesting front leg joint. I haven't seen that before, is it your development? What about the rear legs, what are you doing there?

Great looking chairs Wongo. I'm also interested to know more about the front leg joint.
    Beautiful rosewood.
Those were the droids I was looking for.

I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.

That front leg joint looks like a development of the famous rocker leg joint! Homage to Sam
