Cherry Wood shaving brush handle (a work in progress)
i remembered that i had bought some cherry wood blanks for $1 at the local Rockler shop a while back. And i thought of making a handle. So i started looking at handle styles and after hours of searching i settled on one.
I knew that it was going to take me a long time to do this, because i don't have a lathe. And the dremel that i have is one with a rechargeable battery, so i have to stop working on it to let it charge. But it's alright, it will pay off in the end (i hope).
Here's how i started:
i drew the handle i was modeling mine after on all four sides of the wood
using a dremel and hand sanding, i started the long process of shaping it out
After sanding, sanding and more sanding. It started to take a better shape.
I bought a dremel multimax from a buddy of mine and it helped me sand the top part of it.
More sanding, and shaping. Dremel and hand sanding.

A person of few words and you let the photos do that talking.
A very good work in progress. Yes that's right three thumbs up.

got the final piece in the mail a few days ago, a 24mm silvertip badger knot.
And it's ready to go.
thank you for looking, and the kind words.
It's my first brush handle, but definitely not the last.
