Thanks Woodborer, good of you to notice. I like to keep everything as clean as I can, but there's still a lot of crap around. It can just be so frustrating though because every time I clean I get a job with a lot of routing or planing and have to start over

I like it! You say you're not too good with timbers, but do you (or anyone else) know if the 'Rosewood' in the door panels is one of the Aussie so-called Rosewoods? If it is (and I can see why it's called Rosewood), I'd like to locate some.

Wish i had more WW!! I found it in my Dad's timber shed and cant find any more. He seems to think it rosewood cut across.... It just doesn't look like any I've ever worked with before. I saved it for this project. He just said it could be brazillian rosewood? Either way, We're going to pick up some black hearted sassafras in a few days, and I'll ask then, I'll bring some offcuts. The bloke at the wood yard will know, they specialise in rarer timbers... Failing that, I'll post some photos of close ups... CHeers

The timber you have in the panels is New Guniea Rosewood From New Guniea and the Islands of the pacific.
A it's a great timber to work with, by hand or buy machine. very open grained but polishes really well.
If you would like to get more of it then give us a call! we have loads!

A comment (question) on your cabinet too.
Did you play around with the positioning of the boards in the door panels? As i think if you changed just one board around (far left board) it could have given a great sence of balance. Other then grain direction, it's looking great.... Tools we want to see tools!

Stunning cabinet - eh ... Just how many chisels have you got to need a cabinet that big?

Rosewood is call so because when you work it, it's supposed to smell of ... Roses'.

Oh I got the chisels, don't you worry Got about 50 Bench and mortise chisels now without my lathe tools so i'm not going to have trouble filling it, its only 800W

(about 15 of my chisels are crap though with handle or poor steel problems)
