Clamp cupboard, lockdown project.
Finally just about finished this project I started about a month ago.
My ‘T’ bar and flat bar sash clamps had lived behind a cupboard in the main workshop for the last 20 years or so. They we’re getting rusty and impossible to get out easily due to more being added so there was about 2 dozen in there stacked up against each other.
I also had a few others that needed sorting some Gross Stabil and Bessey that I’d put in a false floor under my bench and hadn’t seen in 30 years.
I must have about 200 clamps including Klemsias and welding clamps etc, I figured if I could get about half in a enclosed space they’d stay rust free and easier to access when needed.
I located the cupboard in the small extension back of the wood area where I’ve put my cyclone system.
This was made from scrap around the workshop.Open backed screwed onto the formply lining.
32mm MDF sides, thick ply shelves, Mahogany blockboard in the drawers for the Klemsias and whatever I had in old kitchen type hinges and a Teak door pull modded to become a flush door opener.
I will probably get my old compressor up and running in that area eventually.
