Coffee Table/CD Storage
The top and legs are Budgeroo (Lysicarpus angustifolius). The top consists of about 5 boards jointed together including one of Beefwood (Grevillea striata) in the middle. The inlays on the top are Bull Oak (Allocasuarina luehmannii). The frame for the side panels is Brigalow (Acacia harpophylla) and the panels are book matched Silky Oak (Grevillea robusta). The unit measures 740mm x 640mm x 410mm high. It is finished with around 10 coats of Penetrol Wood Oil.
All the timber was obtained from my local area in south west Queensland.Bruce
I never try and get my ambitions and capabilities mixed up, but a few cold beers, on a hot day, and well, you all know what happens next!

Great work. Sadly the design wouldn't work for the Grunt household. There is always too much crap on the coffee table, so I'd never be able to open it.

Grunt and Steve
Thanks both for the reply. There is another coffee table where this is going so there shouldn't be too much junk and ***** to clutter up this one? (then again, it's like having a shed that's too small!).
I only realised after the thing was nearly finished that the design had good construction techniques, used good grade timber and with all the rubbish such as 'pizzas', papers, magazines and the like, it would probally be just another coffee table with a stack of unusable space under the lid! I think I forgot a couple of the P's out of the six P's.Bruce
