Darn it , Major; if I could have designed and made a table like that, I would have been very proud of myself. As it is, I am usually happy to just copy other people's ideas. It is a beautiful table, and the black bean provides just the right balance to the silky oak.

Thats fantastic, Major! As Rocker said, a great use of dark and light woods that really make your eye's move - almost an element of optical illusion about it. Good photographs, too!
This time, we didn't forget the gravy.

Wow, well I'm happy to claim any share of glory for a collaberative effort. Even if I didn't contribute, I mean its the only way i'll get any recognition for anything this good.
Well done, like others love the use of contrasting timber, adds balance, particularly to the top, which frankly would have been way out of whack if it was all silky.Boring signature time again!

Wonderful job Major!
Did you ship to Yosemite just to get rid of it, eh?
I know one shouldn't ask, being gentlemen w/workers, and all that, but my curiosity's getting the better of me (again!), so I'm curious as to the price that the gallery put on the piece? No need to be absolutrly precise, just a ball park would do.
Cheers!

HOLY S#*T! That's magnificent. One of the finest piece I've seen on the forum (IMHO).
You should be extreamly proud Major, well done. My favourite part is the black bean trim on the legs. Makes it completeGreatest Movie Quote Ever: "Its good to be the king!"____________________________

Considering your earlier reservations re the timber matching, I can't see what the problem was. Looks great.

Like all the others, I think it's fantastic. Is SWMBO happy?

Very, very nice, Major. From the front: looks great, and I love the teeny asymmetry introduced by the little knot on the font edge.
Could be an optical illusion from the photographic distortion, but from the side, it looks just a tad top-heavy to me: I thought the legs could use a little bit more flairing out at the bottom.
Very nicely executed and good photos.
How did you join the BB ends to the top? Those are my principles, and if you don't like them . . . well, I have others.
