    Default Latest commission

    Hi there,
Not a splinter of wood to be seen!
Here's a shot of my latest design, subcontracted out to a local sheetmetal work company. I have a commission to do some fittings for a chapel: like font, lecturns, cross and candleholders. The candleholders were delivered today...here's a couple. They have been laser-cut from 3mm stainless steel, pressed and tig welded.

    Cheers,
    Andy Mac

    And another...
The remaining work is of a similar design but there are a few blackbean trims to soften it up and match the pews. I'll post shots as they come.

    Cheers,
    Andy Mac

Looks fantastic Andy. Good blend of rectilinear and curvilinear forms. What kind of dimensions are we looking at here?

Stainless steel is such brilliant stuff (timber is better, of course ) It'll last forever.

    Nice industrial look!

    Catholic church?

Are those spot welds going to stay there?

    Thanks for the replies,
The last one is the tallest at about 850mm high. I like stainless (and aluminium) but haven't got the skills/machinery to weld it...hence the subcontracting. A much better material to use when it comes to public art commissions!
Its not a Catholic church, but the designs, way out as they are, suit the architecture....a 60's modernist concrete number.
Jake, hate to disillusion you, but I just came home from the Farmers Arms early...to change a poopy nappy!

    Cheers,
    Andy
