Help finishing rocking horse
Attached latest pic. of rocking horse, shaping almost finished now. I need some advice and I know someone out there will have the answer. I need to even out the different colours of the various grades of 'mahogany'. I'm aiming for a deep chestnut brown. I've tried a test sample of Colron and Ronseal's red mahogany spirit stain, but it is far too pale and doesn't disguise the difference in the colour. I've seen Norm use a 'gel' stain before which seems to have a much more noticeable effect but I can't seem to find any over here in Blighty. I don't want to paint the horse as I want the beauty of the wood to show through.
Thanks in advance
Pete
