Curved Redgum vanity
Hi guys,
here some pics of a Redgum and Vic ash vanity unit I made for my parents when they renovated their ensuite. Everything is coated in Mirotone 2-pac polyurethane with the tops cut polished to a high gloss, very tough and durable finish. The supports for the shelf above the bench were 50mm steel pipe, cut and shaped and then MIG welded back together to form their conical/elipse shape with a bracket welded on top, and a threaded bolt welded internally for fixing through the bench top (and of course a nice coating of nickel plated chromium). As you can see i have not yet made a cover for the tap plumbing( loose end's....#!*.zzzzzzzzz..). Let me know if you think this design works!
cheers Timbo.

Hi Matrix,
Does the design work? Hmmm... Fan-bluddy-tastic I reckon. Great job, the deep red of the red gum looks a treat. A clean and uncluttered look, very nice. Very professional look as well.
For the tap plumbing cover, would it be possible to make a similar shape to the shelf supports, just bigger. (cannot really see the detail of those supports from the photo but they sound stylish) I think a similar shape in the middle for the tap cover might keep the theme and tie it all together.
Did you seal the underside of the bench top as well? How many hous all up for the vanity, top and shelf?
Cheers
Pops

Hi pops, yes the underside of the benchtop had the same amount of coats as the topside, as for the hours, it was about two years ago and i think it was around 80 hours or so. cheers
