More off-cuts – tongue drum
Perfect Christmas present for kids. None of this electronic nonsense.
Classy and they are easy to make. I made 2 in 1 afternoon.

Good question my friend. But hey I ain’t no sound engineer and it is only toy right? As long as the bars give different tunes then it is good enough for me.
There is no music in me I am afraid.

Arh, forgot to tell the finish on the wood.
It is some kind of oil.

Is it just me, or is our friend here still showing off his blessedly good looking bench!
Yes I am green with envy.
The toys look good, but how do sound early in the morning with a hangover?Pat

Kewl.
Any chance of plans, for the tongue section at least? Or final dimensions of the box so I can work 'em out roughly from the pix?

Neat Wongo
I have read that you can tune them a little. By scoping out a grove on the bottom of the toung. but you need access to the underside. I think I got a book mark some where for plans and tuning info. I'll see if I can find them.JunkBoy999

I saw it in shop once. They were selling it for $395 each. I have made about 10 so far and they all have different dimensions. It all depends on the size of the off cuts really. Lets say 35cmX15cmX12cm.
As for the pattern, I just make it up. The tongues are in pair and different lengths.
I cut the pattern with a jigsaw.
