    Default Some more cutting boards.

Made some cutting boards similar to some earlier ones for the three girls in my life.

Made by gluing parquetry tiles onto a pine base, 350 * 250 mm in size, and to differentiate them I glued their first initial letter, made out of purpleheart, in the centre of the board. The E and the F were easy but the M was harder in cutting the mitre corners to match. After a few goes at them I was happy with the way they turned out.

Sanded to 800 and the bottom finished with 3 coats of Minwax Antique oil and the cutting surface with Ubeaut's Food Safe Oil.

    Enjoy.

Those are great. I need three with A, S and H on them!
Question: No non-skid feet on the underside? Or am I blind?
I can't cope with a board that wants to slither around the kitchen.

No you're not blind as they are smooth on the underside.

I have a large roll of crinkled rubber matting, similar to the stuff put under carpet squares to stop them sliding and router mats, which when placed underneath stops them sliding.

That's a relief! I use that non-skid matting under my wood carvings. Even with a mallet & gouges, things don't creep very much at all until the matting gets sawdust powder in it that I can't shake off. The stickiness goes away. You don't suppose that matting is washable? Guess I should try that.

Yep, RV, I wash mine out after it gets dusty. Just rinse in cold water.
