    Default Didgeridoo alternative

These are a couple of didges I made with a mate.

We used solid sticks and cut them in half on the bandsaw.

Most of the hole was removed with a half round bit. The rest was done with an arbortech.

After the halves were glued back together it was shaped.

The one in the pic will get more shaping but it sounds amazing.

    Thanks fellas.

    It was interesting making them.

The join line is too obvious. Does anyone have any suggestions about getting a better join?

My mate is keen to drill a hole from each end of the solid stick.
I can't image how it could be done.
Somewhere I saw a story about a bit that followed a curve but I can't find it now.

You could probably use a long auger bit or spade bit. If you have an extension and a powerful and slow speed drill you might be able to drill maybe 600mm from one end.
Maybe if you started with a 100mm x 100mm square board and fixed it vertically below a bench drill you might be able to drill a hole down the centre.
Then do the same from the other end.
The chances of the two holes meeting seem pretty low to me.

    Any suggestions??
