Should i still keep doing woodwork as my career?
My name is michael, i have been doing woodworking more than 10 years in australia particular in work on with (traditional japanese woodwork called yosegi zaiku, japanese marquetrey style)
I started these hobbies from a woodwork beginner in 2008. In 2017 I had a confidence with this craft skill, then i went back china i thought there were a big market i could sell my art work there turn this as my career. Initially business was slow but stable growth as market explore year after year. however after 2020 pandemic coming, business drop so much due to our mainly business focus on offline market that effect on us too much.
Recently for some reasons i had to give up back to Australia. i am struggling should i keep doing woodwork as my career or just give up to find a job to make a life much simple?
welcome leave messege and give me some advice. here is my workws down below
Cheers

Lovely work Michael but as you know it can be hard to sell stuff especially in these difficult times. I think some advice on marketing from those in that field might help you but I know where you are coming from as my wife has a similar problem with the craft items she makes. You could try a gallery(s) or shops in places like Newtown/inner suburbs of Sydney and see what they can offer. My wife had an outlet in a restaurant and she sold heaps of stuff but it shut down and now she is at a loss as to what to do. Best of luck with your endeavours.
Would you be prepared to teach this craft, if so PM me with your phone number.CHRIS
