Thanks guys - finished shellacing the drawers. All that is left is EEE, attaching the bottoms and lining the drawers with velvet.
The drawers are lined with velvet.
Pic 1 - Measuring a piece of cardboard. It should be about 0.5 mm smaller than the inside of the drawer.
Pic 2 - The velvet is cut, leaving about 1cm edges around the cardboard. I use spray glue to glue the cardboard to the fabric
Pic 3 - Trimming the corners for folding. After trimming the corners I spray glue over the edges and carefully move the whole thing to a clean spot before folding the edges.
Pic 4 - Edges are folded back on the cardboard
Pic 5 - The cardboard is placed on the bottom of the drawer. I am considering using hot glue to attach the fabric to the drawer bottom.

Nice. Have you seen banksiaman's thread? It has some good tips on doing felt bottoms. Apparently you can buy adhesive-backed felt, which might reduce problems with messy glueing.
Those are my principles, and if you don't like them . . . well, I have others.

Great work Java
One day I'll have to try some hand made dovetails. I cheat now.
I do have a question and forgive me if I missed it reading. but what are the speed bump things on the carcasse. Are they stops, some thing for the drawer to slide on ??JunkBoy999

Zenwood (and banksiaman) thanks for that thread. I have searched for information on lining on the board and somehow missed that thread...
Junkboy - these are depth stops for the drawers.

Well, two months ago I was untypically proactive and bought 6 knobs for the drawers. Being proactive is good, but not as important as counting. So last week I went to get the seventh knob only to find out they are out of stock. Today I got it, and completed the thing.
