Yeah I think your right Mick, the metal knob doesnt suit the plain pine color, it would need more brass to match it in.
I had a looksie round and couldnt find any crapiarta wooden handles the same color/grain, might have a go at making some to suit.
The other problem is the lock's cam is 40mm long so it cant be put on the outer edge of the door, and there's a shelf at the middle height. The next design will be better in this respect as there will be 4 shelfs(currently 5)so there wont be any in the middle,
Was about to rip the stock to size today to make the swapable top/plinth, but decided to conect up the dusty to the TS first... it took most of the day just too that!
I had too cut a 4" hole in the back of the POS TSaw of mine and then run a new 15amp power cord just for the dusty, as its a 3hp unit and my shed is only connected by extension cords(3 now)runs of the aircon 15amp pp in the loungeroom!
Been waitin 2yrs for my sparky mate to get of his ass and connect it all up, have allready run the 32amp/6mm mains and put up a distro board and installed 9 fluro's.......................................................................

Harry,
I suggest $199.95, always sounds better than $200. Old marketing ploy which has been proven to work over many years.
If you are going to "wholesale" them to stores then I would offer them in qty buys for example 1 -3 at $150 each, 4-6 at $140, 7-9 at $130 and for 10 and over then negotiate but don't go below $110. There is some saving sfor you to make but doing larhger quantities.
My only words of warning are that if they prove to be popular then the stores selling them will start to place strong demands on you.
Also be careful of those retail outlets that will only do them on consignment...Ruffy - There are only 10 types of people who understand binary, those that do and those that don't.

Great Work! Love the idea of being able to turn one over to make a matching pair. about $190 for pine and +$250 for other wood.
Cheers

$200.00+, dude. Remember that retailers will often put on a 100% mark up.
Does small town translate as tourist town? Original designs handcrafted from local recycled hardwoods (piece of town history etc) could be a winner.

Yep right about the mark up, thats why I dont want to spend to much time making them as most people's dont like spending that much on "its only a DVD rack"...
Original designs handcrafted could be used as a marketing ploy tho.
I'll beat them up abit and call them... rustic(no pun rusty!)vintage "DVD racks"
Small town Nah mate this little town, they'd weigh 2ton if I used local recycled material... lead city as they call it!
Not a real touristy type town... but the Flinders Rangers are nice.....................................................................
