    Default Fill in job

I am waiting for some veneered MDF panels to arrive for a set of wardrobes I am to build so in the meantime I decided to make these panelled doors up for someone.
It has been a while since I made any panelled doors this large so I had to have a practice run at the mitres. I couldn't use my router table as the rail and stile cutters I have are only for small cabinet doors. Anyway I started by routing a roundover on the edge of the timber pieces and then on to the table saw for the groove to accept the panels. I then morticed the stiles and cut the tennons on the table saw. Once all of the pieces were cut to dimensions and the tennons fitted well I had to mitre the profile. I did this after a few practice runs with a chisel and a mitred block clamped over the profile. After my practice they turned out well and I could move on to the panels which were made up out of three 4" widths of Pine. These were then raised on the router table and the whole lot was glued and clamped until the following day. After a final sanding they didn't turn out too bad. Not bad for a couple of days work I think.

Hi and thanks Michael. I cut the mortices on my bench top mortice machine. The tennons were cut on my talbesaw jig. Hardest part was cutting the mitres on the profile.
