More floorboard furniture
I've made many pieces out of both new and old floorboards. This is one I am currently working on. They are a pair of bathroom cabinets out of US Oak floorboards.

Wongo that is such a clean and well executed cabinet. I really like the double panels in the door and rear panel, one of my favourite looks. Please post more photos as you finish it.
It was also nice to see you the other day [emoji106]

Lovely cabinet and beautiful work.
A quick question.
Ive never seen oak floorboards, are they new or second hand.
Some of them look nice and wide.
Where do you get them, I do realise your in sydney and I'm in Melbourne, but curious mostly.
Might have yo chase some up down here.
Cheers
Frank

another like, I'm with groeneaj this looks great better for using recycled timber. I made a side board many years ago out of recycled cedar skirting and arcs and it was a satisfying job to do.

Frank,
From here American Oak
After cutting the T&G and milling you end up with a board 16 - 17 mm thick and 180mm wide if you are lucky. For the bookmatched panels, they are around 6-7mm thick.Visit my website at www.myFineWoodWork.com

There are a few pieces of offcuts. I think they are beautiful so I use them as shelves.

Finally finished this display cabinet. It is quite challenging but I am happy with the result.
