thanks everyone for all the suggestions and positive feedback.I feel more confident now in showing you prototype #1 (unsuccesful).
when first turned on it functioned as expected, shortly thereafter it started adding bits I did'nt want and leaving bits out that I did ,I immediately pulled the plug .

Prototype1 should have alerted you to those transmogrification issues.. still it'll be a while before your next door to door salesman pays a visit. at least if anyone believes the mate of the one that got caught in that prototype.
(so c'mon tell us.
it's a fascinator alright but what does it do?

Aha! (Maybe) I guess it might be a tool used by sculptors in a process called "pointing," but I had no idea they were this complicated. Make a scale model of the sculpture in wood, plaster, clay, etc. Measure its surface points from some sort of reference surface mimicking the final workpiece, e.g. lump of marble. Scale up the depths recorded. Drill holes in the marble to the proper depth for each surface point. Then cut away the parts between holes. This is how they carved Mount Rushmore (with jackhammers) based on a scale model only about half a metre in extent IIRC.

I don't care if it has a function. I want one just because it is beautiful!

These pieces are superb. Thanks so much for posting.
Just one comment on this one:
To me the brass corners on the base look out of place. But everything else is stunning: well integrated, quality design and work, and beautifully presented.
Do you exhibit these? I'd love to see them in the Flesh. Those are my principles, and if you don't like them . . . well, I have others.
