Goblin Forest
If anyone has seen the LOTR movies. this is one of the locations they considered but didn't use in the movie....
1/2 way up Mt Egmont in NZ
Most of the year it's a temperate rain forest, but gets regular snow in winter.
Trees are only 20-30ft tall and massive amounts of moss / orchids / ferns growing everywhere
I figure most woodies like to see interesting forests - no way we are ever going to see it as timber (national park ) but it's a neat place to visit.
Cheers
Ian

Cool forest. Looks like the Trollfells on the way to Rivendell, or maybe the skirts of Fangorn.
Those are my principles, and if you don't like them . . . well, I have others.

The trees look all mouldy, they should chop them down before someone gets hurt

G'day IanAB,
What an enchanting place. I can imagine long solitary walks in a place like that, with my imagination going quietly mad
Cheers!

Here's a tree growing on some rocks we found in the top of the South island last year. If you look closely, you can see the ugly troll who lives there.
If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.
