Haldu & Ironwood Vase
Not too sure on the spelling of "Haldu". Haldu is a native Indian timber. Several years ago there was a commercial planting of some trees just down the track from Darwin at Bachelor (approx 100km south). The vase was finnished in Rustin's clear plastic coating - inside and out. The Haldu turned very well, very nice to turn and finnish. As you can see the "spiggot" is an iron wood insert.

very nice piece of work. Is the finish a spray on by a can or via a spray gun?

The finnish is a two part epoxy. I applied 3-4 coats (brush) with a light sand with 800 grit wet and dry between coats with a final buff/cut with EEE wax. A fair bit of work but woth the effort.
