Hall Stand
This is my first project in my workshop. I was living in USA at the time in a two bedroom apartment and my previous "workshop" was the kitchen bench after 7:30pm at night and between meals on the weekend

That looks fantastic. Is it made from Oregon?
Well done.

Thanks Wongo.
Its made from Red Oak. I bought from someone in Milwaukee Wisconsin. He said at the time it was "Pretty dry". I tested it to be 22%, so had it stacked on stickers at the end of our bed over the winter and by Spring it was ready to go.

Where there's a will there's a way. Got to be keen - store the wood a the foot of the bed, then use the kitchen as a workshop. Top marks for the hall stand.

"If a man is after money, he's money mad; if he keeps it, he's a capitalist; if he spends it, he's a playboy; if he doesn't get it, he's a never-do-well; if he doesn't try to get it, he lacks ambition. If he gets it without working for it; he's a parasite; and if he accumulates it after a life time of hard work, people call him a fool who never got anything out of life."

I can't take credit for the design. I searched the internet looking at antique sites with pictures and found this one and then made up some dimensions that would fit the space we had.

Thanks for all the comments.
Major - there is one contributing factor for the allowance to put the timber in the bedroom - SWMBO was the one who asked for the piece. Had I wanted to put wood there to dry for a workbench - DIFFERENT STORY!!
