Hall table in Jarrah & Magassar ebony
Hi all, Here is a hall table that I was recently commissioned to make. It main frame is made in traditional mortice and tenon while the drawer carcase is mainly pocket hole joinery. Drawers are all dovetailed and internally lined with burgandy-colored felt. The drawer knobs were turned from magassar ebony. I have used ebony for the edgings of the table top, table rails, and for the inlay on the top. All up 3 weeks work. Finished in 3 coats of minimax wipe on poly followed by cedar-colored ubeaut traditional wax.

Very nice work.
Why did you use cedar coloured wax?

Beautiful piece of work.
When all is said and done, there is usually a whole lot more said than done.

Lovely work Aju.
Did the cedar colour wax change the final colour much?

Thanks for all your comments. This was my first furniture peice for a paying customer so I made it to last. The cedar colored traditional wax is what is recommended for brown-red timber. It doesn't darken the timber at all but even after buffing with a swanson mop you might have hard to get at parts of the furniture. The wax residue left here is disguised compared neural-colored tradition wax.
