aabb,
Congratulations on the table, truely beautiful. I too, am about to start making a hall table. Just one question if I can; you talked about the table being a modified shaker plan. Could you please tell me where you obtained the plan, I would like to use it if the result is that good. Thanks, Anthony

Well done Albert,
Looks fantastic, I like the tung finish, I reckon you will warm to the more glossy affect?
Did you have fun doing the taper legs??
Cheers,
Gary

Great Job Albert.
Nice looking front on that table, love the grain. It has been a good year for hall tables. The Hall Table Gods will be appeased.JunkBoy999

Mods I made were
Slightly differennt size to suit area I wanted to put it
Top (more slats) fastened with wooden buttons instead of metal fasteners
Legs - square - tapered on 4 legs
Tassie oak used
Backof drawers - I did differently.
Recommend you make this one . i enjoyed process .... any quereis along way just ask..

Excellent job all round!! All I might change is to plane a 20 to 30 degree slope on the edges or the top biased to the underside to give it a slightly "lifted" look.

Albert.
Thank you for the link - I have been on the site and the information is surprisingly easy to follow, and free!
I will be sure to contact you if I need some advice during the building process.
