His and Hers benches
Hi all,
Mine's the Oregon and Jarrah, hers is the Utile Mahogany and Tassie Blackwood. I particularly wanted to point out the result of using Organoil Hard Burnishing oil which I used on the Kitchen bench. Wet and dry to 2k grit and buffed with lambswool. You can see the reflection of the rosating dish in the surface on one view. I used Organoil outside oil for the workbench and it really holds up well under a variey of oil and glue spills.
Regards,

Good stuff Rob, both the benches look nice and solid, is that a drawer in the bench (pic #3) Bet SWMBO must be happy with her bench.

Al .

Hi all again,
Some answers.
Unfortunately they are not recycled. Cost is high, I only drive a Toyota echo and I have nowhere to store a lot of timber, so I buy what I need when I need it. (and it hurts).
Yes there is a drawer in the Kitchen bench, its 200 deep,140 high and 55 wide (mm) with dovetails all round.
The work bench now has two vises, with a Veritas two handle chain jobby at one end.
I hope they will last a lifetime and beyond
Regards
Rob

Hi Harry,
I think your right about that. I'm sure every SWMBO who has seen tools arriving in the Garage/Carport/Shed has instantly thought " I know what I need!!"
Maybe it's genetic.
I have to say that after seeing your bench I wasn't sure I should put mine on here. Your's was spectacular. (Should we start a mutual admiration society?). I guess I wanted to show the variety that necessity encourages.
Must go, the cat wants to send an email!
Regards
Rob

Both are brilliant well done
Now having said that I know you can feel that "BUT" coming and so it is
But... why didnt you counter sink the screws and put some bungs in to cover them? would look 100% instead of those screw heads everywhere
Otherwise... beautiful! green one comin your way!Believe me there IS life beyond marriage!!! Relax breathe and smile learn to laugh again from the heart so it reaches the eyes!!

Very very nice. I like the abundance of dog holes on your bench: you can never have enough of 'em.
Those are my principles, and if you don't like them . . . well, I have others.
