    Default Some Xmas Presents

Thought i`d better make something for the family this xmas,

I`m hoping this will keep me in the good books for a little while at least

These are very simple little pen holders, Sheoak mitred box with a Jarrah base, the little Jarrah keys were cut by hand, thought i`d put them in there to break it up a little. I made 5 of these as it`s allways a little easier to do a few in one hit.

Anyway Merry Christmas to everyone, be safe and happy and enjoy the break

    cheers
    Brad

Very nice Brad, they look a whole lot better than the one on my desk!

This is not a criticism but a thought, would it look better with three keys on each corner?

    Thumbs up

Neat boxes and a good idea.

I too think 3 keys would look better.

    Cheers guys

Yeah i totally agree that another key would look a bit better,
started me thinking and perhaps 4 keys (2 top and 2 below) would look good too.

    Too late now tho

A general rule for decoration is that things are better in groups of odd numbers.

If you had, say 2 top and two bottom that would ask for either 2 more in the middle or one in the middle.

Hmmm.....maybe not too late but it would depend on the spacings you have now and whether you have given them away.

I agree with Artme about the numbers of keys and I played around with some drawings and found that one top and bottom but further up and down with three in the middle did not look too bad.
The three in the middle being different sizes, ie. the middle one bigger than the top and bottom ones and the two outside being smaller. Just my view of course.
You are also governed by the height of the box as to how far you take this.

Anyway, it is food for thought for your next box.

    Colin.
