Default 'Going Home' - carving in Huon Pine

'Going Home' is a relief carving worked from an unusual piece of Huon Pine. Some knots and grain features were used to advantage - e.g. a knot in the winding track utilised as a pot-hole or rut, with a drain-pipe emptying into the same.

Very nice job inspector g like the way you used the natural features of the wood.

I love working with huon pine (espically the smell)
I usually leave it as close to natural and just oil the finish
Huon pine oil is great but hard to get , the last I managed to get was at the Hobart Markets .

A picture is worth a thousand words, and so it should be it uses up a thousand times the memory.

Very nice work, Insp. G. What tools did you use? Love the Huon Pine, too - shows up your work well.

    Hi Inspector Gadge and welcome

That is really nice! Love the way the trees form part of the frame. Is it your own design? Well done!

    Cheers

Nice work. Wish I had the talent to carve.
All these projects. Not enough lifetimes to finish them.

I'd like to able to carve like that too . You've got a talent for visualising the design in the wood .
